Holy Monday

On Holy Monday the Mantzaros Philharmonic band performs in the Catholic Cathedral of Corfu (the Duomo), situated in the picturesque Town Hall Square. Religious and ecclesiastic music is devoted to Christ's passion.This is the first act of Catholics & Orthodox co-celebrating Greek Orthodox Easter in Corfu. Despite the difference in calendar, in Corfu the Catholic Church participates in all events of the Orthodox Church and celebrate together, having arranged papal dispensation for this, as otherwise families and communities would be separated.
